Breastfeeding & Baby Sleep Support in Perth

Early parenting can bring plenty of questions—especially when feeding feels difficult, sleep is exhausting or the advice you’re hearing doesn’t fit your baby.

I’m Pip Wynn Owen, a registered midwife, International Board Certified Lactation Consultant (IBCLC) and NDC accredited health professional. I offer personalised postnatal support to help you understand what’s happening and find practical ways forward that work for you and your baby.

Whether you’re looking for breastfeeding help, responsive baby and toddler sleep support, or preparation before your baby arrives, you can choose the support that fits your family.

What would you like support with?

Breastfeeding Support

If feeding is painful, you’re worried about milk supply or weight gain, or things simply feel harder than you expected, we can take time to understand what’s happening.

We’ll explore feeding comfort, how you and your baby fit together, your baby’s feeding behaviour and your own goals. Support can also include expressing, bottles and mixed feeding.

Available through home visits across Perth and clinic appointments in West Perth.

Baby & Toddler Sleep Support

If sleep is exhausting or confusing, we’ll look at your baby’s individual needs and what’s happening across the whole day and night.

My NDC approach works with the biology of sleep and supports responsive care. Together, we’ll explore practical changes that respect your baby’s need for comfort and connection and feel manageable for your family.

Available in West Perth, online via Zoom and through home visits by arrangement.

Weaning with Love

Ready to reduce breastfeeds, night wean or finish breastfeeding? You can make changes in a way that respects your needs and your child’s need for comfort and connection.

Weaning with Love is a personalised consultation to help you find a gradual, realistic way forward. Together, we’ll explore which feeds you would like to change, other ways to offer comfort, and how a partner or trusted caregiver can support the process.

Your plan will take account of your child’s age, feeding and sleep, your breast comfort and what feels manageable for your family.

Support that starts with listening

Feeding, sleep, your baby’s development and your own wellbeing are all connected. I take time to hear your story, understand what feels difficult and explore what matters to you.

My approach brings together midwifery, lactation care, early parenting education and Neuroprotective Developmental Care (NDC/Possums). Together, we’ll find practical changes that work with your baby’s biology, respect your parenting instincts and fit your family’s daily life.

Preparing for life with your newborn?

My Life with a Newborn Workshop is a chance to explore feeding, sleep and early parenting before your baby arrives.

We’ll look at how breastfeeding works, what normal newborn sleep can look like and how to respond to your baby’s cues. You’ll also learn about the parental brain and ways to support yourself through the adjustment to becoming a parent.

Partners are strongly encouraged to attend, so you can prepare together and build a shared understanding of what your baby may need and the kind of partners you want to be.

Online courses for feeding and sleep

Confident Breastfeeding

Designed as a prenatal course, Confident Breastfeeding lets you learn at your own pace during pregnancy, before the busy early days with your baby.

The first hours after birth are important for getting breastfeeding off to a good start. Preparing beforehand helps you understand your baby’s feeding instincts, support those early feeds and know when to ask for help.

Explore comfortable fit and hold, milk production and common feeding concerns, with practical guidance you can return to once your baby arrives.

Understanding Sleep

Designed as a prenatal course, my Baby Sleep Online workshop gives you time to explore how baby sleep works before your baby arrives.

Understanding sleep from day one can help you support both your baby’s needs and breastfeeding. You’ll explore how feeding and sleep fit together, why waking is normal and how to work with the biology that drives sleep.

These foundations help you understand and support your child’s changing sleep needs at every stage, from newborn days through toddlerhood, with comfort and connection at the centre.

Not sure where to start?

If you’re unsure which consultation, workshop or online course would suit you, get in touch and tell me a little about what you’d like help with.

You can include your baby’s age or your due date, and your suburb if you’re considering a home visit.

I’ll help you find the most appropriate next step for you and your family.

You’ll find appointment options, fees and included support on each service page.
